Famous scenic route starting near the Rifugio Citelli. The eruption of 1865 on the Northeast side of Etna offers numerous points along the “bottoniera” of eruptive cones.The flourishing colony of Etna birch trees, surrounding the vents so called in honor of the German volcanologist Wolfgang Sartorius. Path suitable for all types of hikers.
