Eruptive fracture of 1923

The fracture at the base of Monte Nero was formed during the eruption that began on June 17, 1923.

The flow after covering 11 km stopped on July 18 at an altitude of 600 mt asl.

Characterized by a buttonhole of craters, it remains today the largest eruption system in fracture best preserved on Etna volcano.
